‘New Romans’ had us intrigued from early, we were marching to their beat you could say. Appearing like a track recorded in an abandoned town way out west so all those echoes create an even more evocative strain. ‘New Romans’ blooms and it blooms, not unlike a Postal Service track at times, and it doesn’t shirk from slowing things down and taking stock before going off on its merry way again. Jake Muskat of Sea Glass (and his mate Alex Schiff of Blue Canopy) have created such lovely company here, short and sweet and textured with a genuine warmth. KH
