‘Starlit’ has something sharp and jangling to grab our attention, the percussive elements similarly appealing. And that is before we even set foot inside the world of a singer who reminds of Dolores O’Riordan. Lumari come from a 90’s dreampop arena and ‘Starlit’ is a pounding illustration of what they do. A song that had an inevitability, headphones on and let those dreams we’ve suppressed for years come back to the fore. And the best bit is that there is a chorus in there, one that shows that this Minneapolis-based act really mean business. Most impressed, this will be getting plenty of reruns round ours over the next few months. KH
