StreetWave Media presents an exclusive interview with pop artist, Mery Diamondz located in Los Angeles, California. After our interview, check out her music linked below…

1. What made you decide to jump into the music industry or music business?

From a very young age, I’ve harbored a deep passion for industry, instilled by my family’s connection to a prominent Armenian artist, my mother’s aunt. Inspired by her influence, I delved further into the realm of music, paving my own path towards a career in the spotlight.

2. What do you think makes you stand out from all the other aspiring and upcoming artists in your genre of music?

I strive to connect with listeners on a profound level, delivering music that resonates with diverse audiences while staying true to my unique artistic vision.

3. If you could collaborate with ANY artist/band… Who would you choose and why?

The prospect of collaborating with Nicki Minaj excites me immensely. Her energy is magnetic, and I admire her distinct style.

4. What do you think is your biggest Advantage and your biggest Disadvantage about being an Indie artist?

My biggest disadvantage is finding team members that are willing to work hard until their ends meet. Nowadays it’s hard to find committed people who are willing to go the extra mile to accomplish greatness. The biggest advantage would be that many opportunities lie within this genre for anyone who is willing to strive for action and overcome hardship on their path to success.

5. Do you prefer the Independent route or would you rather sign to a major record label, and why?

I thrive on being my own boss and having full control over the direction of my artistic journey.

6. Out of all the songs you’ve released, what do you think is your best song and why?

While I cherish all my songs, if I had to pick one as a standout, it would be “Rockstar”. It’s an upbeat, party anthem that exudes an energetic vibe, and I aim for everyone to revel in feeling like a rockstar when they hear it.

7. Do you miss the era of CD sales OR do you prefer the new wave of music streaming?  Explain…

I miss the era of CD sales simply for one reason, we all made a lot more money when CDs were being sold, mechanical royalties were better, publishing royalties were better and writing royalties were better. I wish there was some way to meet in the middle of this.

8. Between creating in the studio OR performing live on stage, which is your most enjoyable one and why?

I find the studio environment conducive to my creative process due to its calming atmosphere, allowing me to express my artistic ideas more effectively.

9. During your entire journey through the music business, what would you consider your Worst experience?

One of the most challenging situations for me is collaborating with individuals whom I believed I knew well but, unfortunately, turned out to be dishonest in business dealings.

10. What would you consider the most successful or proudest moment in your music career, so far?

I would consider my most successful and proudest moment when I recorded my original song “Stand By You” because everybody needs someone to stand by that especially in these turbulent times that we live in; all the abuse, the trafficking people need a hero in the corner and I feel like this song could be everybody’s hero.

11. If any, what discourages you the Most about music industry these days?

I don’t look at it as discouragement in the music industry these days. I look at it as an encouragement of how I can make it better, how I can be a better artist, how I can be a better publisher, how I can be a better entertainer. So, it encourages me to bring out the best in the industry at the worst of times.

12. What inspires you the Most about the music industry these days?

What inspires me most about the music industry is that I can make a change in the music industry by my lyrics, by my music, by my shows and it lets me know that anything is possible because it’s a bridge to other opportunities in the entertainment world.

13. If you weren’t in the music business or industry, what do you think you would be doing with your life instead?

If I were not involved in the music or business industry, I’d likely pursue entrepreneurship by establishing my own business and delving into investment opportunities.

14. In your own opinion, what is the current music scene like in your local area?

In my opinion I feel like the music scene should be more active and give more opportunity to live venues to bring the musicianship back to Los Angeles the way it used to be.

15. What is your latest release and where fans can find it?

My latest track, titled “Don’t Judge Me” is available on all major digital platforms.

16. What is on your agenda or what can fans expect to see from you in 2024?

Engaging in film projects, broadening merchandise offerings, creating new songs, organizing shows, teaming up with other artists, and pursuing various larger- scale endeavors- stay tuned for what’s to come!
