Claudio Cipriani is a composer who makes music because he enjoys doing it. He doesn’t copy other people’s thoughts, but wants to express his own. Nowadays, that’s rare, so Cipriani deserves credit. His EP, Meek, will change you from a normal listener to an avid fan.
Forthlin Road opens the EP, with some cool organic instrumentation that slides beautifully, adding some sunshine to what could otherwise be a rather moody atmosphere. It’s especially cool to hear the piano keys here. Waves Come and Go is notable for its superb string arrangement. Bond Of Light feels like a cross between The Beatles and Ed Sheeran. It might sound odd, but it’s definitely not. You can take my word for it.
Mimosa Valentine‘s intro alone possesses something magical. I don’t know, I just find this song to be extraordinary. Life Is A Song has a similar rhythmic section as Bond of Light, and is slightly sentimental, which is the perfect way to end this EP.
Lyrically, Meek delivers. It recognizes how hard life can be. Between busy schedules, there are times it feels like we can’t catch a break. The songs presented here help us in pushing through failures and setbacks, and finding strength when we seem to be lacking.
Cipriani did an excellent job, and I’d like to conclude by saying that. He, as well as you, can be proud of what he has accomplished. Start listening to Meek below!
