NURD is a rising R& B / Neosoul singer -songwriter that is on a mission to use her music as a bridge, bringing understanding and hope through her powerful voice. Born and raised in the cultural hub of Leimert Park, NURD’s musical journey began early, surrounded by the rhythms and stories of her city. Apart from her mesmerizing voice, NURD is a dedicated advocate for mental health, especially within the Black community.

How long have you been making music?
All my life but professionally since 2016

What genre would you consider your music to be?
R&B/Soul/neo soul

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
To be able to connect and inspire people but also connect with God

What are your biggest musical influences?
Life, Nina Simone , erykah Badu , Jazmine Sullivan , sza

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
Independent

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Consistency and imposter syndrome

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
2 EPs and 6 singles

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
It’s step out of my comfort zone . I love house music and disco music . So i wanted to make a record that you could put on and feel confident . Especially women
