While previous NTHNL albums showcased other influences and aspects of the Brooklyn based flutist’s sound, the latest album from Jacob Rudin’s musical alter-ego is all about finding your personal zen. An album with the purpose and intent of being a backdrop to meditation, it certainly places the listener in a meditative state – if the listener allows it to, that is.
Brooklyn’s NTHNL consulted and worked with yoga instructor and musician Leslie Graves to create a musical space that would aid the meditative process. While this music reviewer and appreciator isn’t necessarily too familiar with meditation, the album has become a fixture in helping them relax and even fall asleep.
A soothing and beautiful listen that blends Rudin’s remarkable flute music with a host of other instruments and ambient sounds… the result it a can’t-miss album that could translate into the most relaxing afternoon of your life!
