Norcal Troubadour Stevie Cornell is back with a fresh album of Americana fare that blends classic rock, golden age country, modern alt-country, and pop into a beautiful, beachy glass of sweet tea. Fans of everything form Johnny Cash to The Kinks to The Zombies to Ryan Adams to The Turtles to Beach Boys to both Elvises (Costello and The King) and beyond are sure to appreciate the fell good sound and message of Stevie’s Some Sweet Dream.
Each song has its own unique flare, while the album takes them all to create a unfied feeling that is nostalgic, uplifting, and extremely toe tapping. “Don’t Look Down” is a personal favorite track of this reviewer, but the whole album is fantastic.
Without nearly 50 years of experience in the world of music, it makes sense how impressive Cornell’s ability to channel his influences, write catchy hooks, and remain captivating. If you only have time for a track, definitely think about “Don’t Look Down”… but you’d be better served to press play and listen to the album through.
