Dublin-based band SPRINTS has released their latest track, ‘Feast,’ marking their first release with a revamped lineup. The addition of Zac Stephenson on guitar follows the amicable departure of founding member Colm O’Reilly.

SPRINTS have had an exceptional year, with their debut album, Letter to Self, reaching the Top 20. They performed alongside IDLES and Pixies at festivals like Glastonbury, End of the Road, and All Together Now, establishing themselves as a prominent presence in the industry.

Known for their urgent, emotionally charged songwriting, SPRINTS have garnered critical acclaim for their ability to blend personal narratives with themes of trauma and resilience. Following the success of Letter to Self, which received rave reviews from publications like NME, DIY, and Dork, the band has been touring extensively. The new single, ‘Feast,’ offers a glimpse into their evolving sound and a taste of what’s to come.

Produced by Dan Fox of Gilla Band and penned by guitarist/songwriter Karla Chubb, SPRINTS’ latest single, ‘Feast,’ is a captivating and thought-provoking track. Inspired by gothic fiction, body horror, and the subversive poetry of Mary Oliver, the song explores themes of desire, queer possibility, and the intensity of human connection.

Commenting on the track, the band shared:

Drawing inspiration from grunge and gothic influences, the song explores themes of gluttony, consumption, and desire, particularly in the context of sexuality and romance. In Ireland, religious storytelling often shapes our early experiences, thanks to the interconnectedness of the Catholic Church and state. We found it intriguing to reinterpret this iconography and imagery through a queer lens. ‘Feast’ is dark, gothic, and sensual, encouraging us to embrace our wants and desires without apology.
