My Chemical Romance gone folk? Nate Bergman Gives Us An Excellent Sample

My Chemical Romance gone folk? Nate Bergman gives this popular My Chemical Romance song a completely different feel. Say goodbye to the fast-paced drums, and angsty and emo vocals of the original version of “Helena.” This version leans more towards singer-songwriter folk than it does towards emo or pop punk. With just a rhythm guitar, a stunning vocal performance, and organ towards the end, this is a very stand-out cover of “Helena.” This simple arrangement also showcases how truly great of a song Helena is. Even stripped down, it’s a catchy, remarkable song.

Nate Bergman’s chorus is haunting and chilling because of his gorgeous vocal delivery. So much heart is in the performance, which is a very rare thing for an artist to pull off for a song that isn’t their own. Well, Nate Bergman certainly made this song his own.

He also made the excellent choice of paying tribute to the original My Chemical Romance artwork with his single cover artwork.
