DITZ are back with their highly anticipated second album, Never Exhale, set for release on January 24, 2025, via Republic Of Music/Domino Publishing. Alongside the album announcement, the band released their new single, ‘Space/Smile,’ and revealed plans for a major European and UK tour.
Never Exhale showcases DITZ’s signature sound, with themes exploring unnecessary hatred, personal demons, politics, and the weight of society’s impact on the world. The album serves as a continuation of their debut, The Great Regression, released in 2022, capturing the band’s evolution and experiences during the writing and recording process.
While recording Never Exhale in a traditional studio was initially planned, the band’s opportunity to support IDLES on tour led them to abandon those plans. Instead, they utilised borrowed rehearsal spaces, often donated by fellow bands they had played with the night before, even debuting new songs live the following night.
A compact first taste of the album, vocalist C.A. Francis states of ‘Space/Smile’, ‘I feel like Space/Smile is pretty unique within the album. It’s the shortest track by a fair margin. We’ve kind of become known for using dynamic shifts to create drama in our music and with this track we tried to avoid it. It’s all about the escalation.’
