Leicester-based trio DreamCage are on a mission to “bring grunge back to the masses,” and their latest track, Gone & Stay, is testament to this vision.
Formed in 2021, DreamCage is a Leicester-based trio that left behind the monotony of daily jobs to captivate audiences with their unique spin on grunge. Since their start, the band has hit remarkable milestones, including headlining sold-out shows, selling out merch, performing at various London venues, and securing a spot at the YNOT Festival.

They’ve also received recognition from Metal Heart and were featured as a showcase artist in two regions by BBC Introducing. Beyond their live performances, DreamCage made waves with their recorded music; they released their debut track, Fairweather Friend, in 2022, followed by their second single, Be Just Fine, in April 2023. Both tracks were met with an enthusiastic response, racking up thousands of streams and becoming their most popular songs to date.
Following this, they took a short break from touring to focus on their debut EP, Life & Loathing—a four-track collection showcasing their innate versatility. Now, DreamCage is set to add to their list of achievements with the release of their latest track, Gone & Stay.
Right from the start, Gone & Stay transports you to the ’90s with its nostalgic grunge sound. The track blends catchy hooks with distorted riffs and energetic drumming, culminating in a lively chorus that will echo in your mind for days.
“In an era distant from the golden age of grunge, Gone & Stay serves as a vibrant tribute to the genre, featuring an edgy vibe that is wickedly alluring.”
If you believed this was the pinnacle for this talented trio, think again—DreamCage is gearing up for their upcoming EP. Whether it will measure up to Gone & Stay remains to be seen, but in the meantime, these musicians offer an engaging discography that will satisfy all your alt-rock cravings.
