The third single from Manic Street Preachers’ forthcoming fifteenth album, Critical Thinking, has arrived. People Ruin Paintings showcases the band’s telepathic musical synergy, honed over three decades of instinctive collaboration. Described as “Stadium Jazz” by Classic Rock, the song arrives accompanied by a lyric video.

Critical Thinking, due for release on January 31st, has garnered critical acclaim already, with Classic Rock awarding it a 9/10 and declaring, “(Critical Thinking) shows that with the Manics, rage never sleeps.” Record Collector echoed this sentiment, stating “All these years later, they’re needed more than ever.”

The previous singles, ‘Decline & Fall’ and the Nicky Wire-fronted ‘Hiding in Plain Sight,’ were met with enthusiastic praise from fans and critics alike and quickly became radio staples.

The band’s UK tour sold out immediately after the announcement. After a successful tour of Japan, the Manic Street Preachers are confirmed to play several festivals this summer.

Critical Thinking explores the clash of conflicting ideas, fusing unflinchingly introspective lyrics with some of the band’s most infectious and powerful melodies to date.

The album is available in various formats, including LP, CD, hardback CD, and cassette. A limited 7″ features two new songs, while an extended CD includes a Steven Wilson remix of Decline & Fall and demo versions of all the album tracks.
