Southampton’s indie-pop quartet Myriad is back with their most ambitious project yet: their new four-track EP, Living On The Internet. This release marks a significant step forward for the band, showcasing their growth and the development of their sound.
Myriad – Living On The Internet
Over the past year, Myriad has made a strong impact on the South Coast music scene. Their indie-pop sound, heavily influenced by 2000s icons like The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, and The 1975, has quickly become a defining feature of their identity.

As they kick off 2025 with this exciting new release, Living On The Internet takes listeners on a journey through anxiety, heartbreak, love, and the endless cycle of doom-scrolling. The EP is a true reflection of the band’s signature indie-pop style, combining introspective lyrics with vibrant melodies.
The self-titled track, Living On The Internet, was released as a single just two months ago. The song serves as a sharp critique of the turmoil caused by our constant online presence. It explores the effects of a digital world that has become so ingrained in daily life, that it’s almost as if the internet has become as essential as air itself. The track’s bold, alt-rock instrumentation elevates its message, making it a standout moment on the EP.
Oxytocin takes a more romantic turn, with addictive drumming and vibrant guitars building a dreamlike atmosphere. The track beautifully captures the intoxicating feeling of love while questioning its authenticity and whether it’s destined to end too soon.
In Sick of the Sound, Myriad explores a darker theme—anxiety. The track conveys the discomfort of being left alone with one’s thoughts in the stillness of the night, with the poignant lyric, “I’m sick of the sound of silence in my head,” capturing the essence of the song.
The final track, Wasted Time, is one of the band’s most endearing yet heartbreaking songs. It tells the story of a love that has fallen apart, with instrumentation that harks back to the early sound of The Strokes. The guitar riff, reminiscent of the iconic Last Nite, pairs perfectly with the gentle vocals, creating a sound that is distinctly Myriad.
“Living On The Internet is both invigorating and meaningful, blending raw emotions with catchy, unforgettable moments.”
To celebrate the release of their EP, Myriad is preparing for their biggest headline show yet at The Joiners in Southampton on Saturday, January 18th, you can get your tickets here. Don’t miss the chance to experience this incredible night!
