Must Hear: Bo Weber’s Dreamy Earworm, “Cigarette Tattoo”

I hadn’t heard of Bo Weber before, but ever since I stumbled upon his new song “Cigarette Tattoo,” I haven’t been able to get enough of the song. I’ve been playing it in my car every time I drive around Los Angeles. Right now, the song is a much-needed mood booster, plus it reminds me of how much this city I live in means to me. The song not only captures the essence of Los Angeles, with a reference to the Hollywood Hills, but also serves as an anthem for the excitement this city inspires in young people chasing their dreams in a competitive, artist-driven industry.

Bo Weber has undoubtedly delivered a hit with this track. The production is understated and never over the top, which is part of what makes it so compelling. A catchy synth line oscillates throughout the track, while the vocal melodies hook you from verse to chorus. The bridge introduces a more emo vibe, adding contrast to the alt-pop/dream-pop foundation of the song.

It’s only been a few days, and I already know all the words, a true sign of its infectious appeal. If you’re a fan of dream-pop, alt-pop, or emo-pop, “Cigarette Tattoo” will quickly become one of your most-streamed tracks. Stream it now on Spotify:
