New Jersey’s Pocket Gum returnw ith the new single ‘Wasted’ The dynamic duo of Joshua Elavia (guitar) and Ryan Von Sauers (bass) ‘Wasted’ fully embodies their signature blend of dreamy shoegaze and upbeat pop-punk to create a sound which fits between the two.

“Wasted dives into the dark depths of a drunken reality,” the band shares. “It deals with facing our demons while trying to maintain our day-to-day—going through the motions of monotony.”

This gripping honesty is what sets ‘Wasted’ apart. Nearly six years in the making, the track was sculpted through a mix of studio precision and DIY grit. The drums were recorded at Mt. Moon Recording Studio in Philadelphia, while the rest of the instrumentation and vocals were self-recorded in their basement DIY venue, Mum’s, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The result is a song that exudes authenticity—an unpolished yet meticulously crafted reflection of the band’s evolving artistry.
