Ded Corgi Releases ACAB Anthem “1312”, as Nationwide Protests Continue

ded corgi, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, is out with a brand-new record, a fast-paced punk rock album featuring 12 songs and clocking in at just 27 minutes.

ded corgi describes herself as “a one-woman band” and “a lonely trans woman from the Old South trying to make it in the face of a dehumanizing, genocidal authoritarian government.” Impressively, she plays every instrument on the record. Listeners can expect angsty vocals, distorted guitars, and heavy drums throughout.

Rock the Pigeon wanted to shine a light on the full album, but especially on the track titled “1312.” The song opens with a catchy lead guitar riff before punk vocals take it to another level of raw, emotional intensity. This is a protest song. This is an anarchist anthem.

For those unfamiliar, “1312” stands for the acronym ACAB, meaning All Cops Are Bastards. The track is about reclaiming power from the police and giving it back to the people. As protesters march across the country and clash with police forces actively stripping away First Amendment rights, “1312” serves as a timely and defiant anthem.

fuck 12.
