Indie Risers Haytor Shine On ‘Need To Know (When You’re Coming Home)’

Fresh from a run of sold-out headline shows across the South West, rising indie-rock outfit HAYTOR return with their shimmering new single ‘Need To Know (When You’re Coming Home)’, out now.

Built around radiant guitar lines, glowing synth textures and a driving rhythm section, the track captures the band’s knack for marrying heartfelt sincerity with infectious, 80s-tinged indie-pop hooks. Propelled by urgent drums and a pulsing bass groove, it’s a song that feels both expansive and intimate—layered with nuance yet immediately arresting.

Frontman Austin Robison describes the track as born from warm summer nights and a sense of longing:

“We wrote Need To Know in the height of summer as this big, vibey, late-night drive track. It’s about the absence of that someone, the longing of that connection and collections of hazy memories together.”

The release follows growing acclaim from tastemakers such as Clash, Notion, Ones To Watch and Earmilk, alongside spins on Kerrang! Radio, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, and more. With live credits supporting The Snuts and Deco, and festival appearances at Boardmasters, Lakefest, Gone Wild Festival, and Oceanfest, HAYTOR’s reputation for anthemic live energy continues to rise. Their following has only strengthened with headline shows in London, Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth, including a stop at Rough Trade Bristol.

Need To Know (When You’re Coming Home) marks another bold step forward for the band—equal parts nostalgic and forward-facing, it’s a standout addition to their growing catalogue.
