Samuel Taylor Shares Heartfelt Debut ‘Little World’

Suffolk-born indie-folk newcomer Samuel Taylor has signed to No Roads Records and released his debut single ‘Little World’, recorded at Old Jet Studios and produced by Jesse Quin of Keane and Mt. Desolation.

At just 23, Taylor has quickly drawn attention with a sound described as cinematic, transportive and emotionally resonant. Rooted in delicate acoustic guitar and intimate vocals, ‘Little World’ gradually builds with strings, keys, banjo and percussion into an expansive arrangement. The single features Taylor on vocals, guitar and banjo, with Quin on drums, bass and keys, Ross Holmes on violin and Paul Frith on additional instrumentation. It was mastered by Kevin Tuffy at Tuff Mastering.

Speaking about the single, Taylor explains: “With ‘Little World’ I wanted to show the feelings of loving someone who has a fragility that we didn’t cause, but becomes part of our life too. It’s about navigating a relationship that contains a damage that nobody’s fault, but sometimes feels impossible to solve. Ultimately, it’s about finding courage and resilience in love.”

Taylor grew up in rural Suffolk, spending his childhood cycling through forests, swimming in rivers and listening to his father’s bluegrass records. He taught himself banjo before moving on to guitar and voice, later studying contemporary music and working as a session musician in the Americana scene. Influences including Bear’s Den and Johnny Flynn helped shape his path into indie-folk, though his own style leans towards the cinematic and emotionally layered.

Earlier this year, Taylor shared his first songs with Jesse Quin, who signed him immediately to his Suffolk-based label No Roads Records. The debut was recorded at Old Jet, Quin’s studio on a disused Cold War airbase. The label launch marks Taylor’s first official step into the UK indie-folk scene, positioning him as a fresh voice with a distinctive sound and a strong sense of artistic identity.

With ‘Little World’, Taylor showcases a strikingly complete sound and a lot of promise for the future.
