2025 was a year of breakthrough achievements for Birmingham’s new indie-rock heroes, The Clause. Their debut album, Victim of a Casual Thing, not only shot straight to #1 on the Official Independent Album Charts but also secured a remarkable position at #19 on the overall UK Official Albums Chart. The band is set to celebrate this success by playing their biggest headline show to date at the 3,000-capacity O2 Academy Birmingham. Standing tickets for the show are already sold out, leaving only a very limited number of seats remaining.
To mark the momentous night, The Clause is hosting a raffle to win a bespoke piece of artwork created by Smashed Hits (real name Kirk Whitehouse). The Birmingham-based artist, who specialises in broken vinyl portraits, turned his attention to what he calls “Birmingham’s greatest rising band” for his latest project, crafting a special one-off piece from smashed-up vinyl copies of Victim of a Casual Thing. Fans can enter the raffle by purchasing a £5 ticket at the merch stand at the Birmingham show, with the winner being revealed the following Monday. Vocalist/guitarist Pearce Macca confirmed the initiative:
“To celebrate our biggest ever show to 3000 people at the Birmingham O2 Academy, we’ve teamed up with Smashed Hits to make this special one-off piece of artwork that’s made from out of smashed-up vinyl of our debut album. It’s beautiful. We will raffle this off at the show on Friday. All of the proceeds will go to foodbanks in Birmingham, so get involved and we can send some money to people who really need it this Christmas time.”
Looking ahead, 2026 is already shaping up to be another epic year for The Clause. They recently announced a tour in conjunction with Independent Venue Week, which is already nearing a sell-out, and the second leg of touring in support of their debut album begins in March with dates across the UK, Europe, and Ireland. Their summer festival schedule is also filling up quickly, with confirmed appearances including a headline set at This Feeling By The Sea, along with dates at In It Together, Tramlines, and Y NOT?
