In 2025, the theys and the thems released a dream pop, indie pop song called “Try Again.” The song starts off talking about new beginnings, second chances, and wondering if it’s time to try again in a relationship that seems incompatible. My personal favorite part of the track is the bass line. It immediately made me interested in hearing the rest of the song and the rest of the artist’s catalog. It’s punchy, funky, technical, and just super catchy. It’s the driving force behind the track. The synths, the percussive elements, and the vocals all revolve around the bass. I also enjoyed the laid back vocal delivery and super raw lyricism.
The theys and the thems also released an EP in 2025 which has the song “Bamboozled!.otf (On the Fence).” The bass line is super hooky like the previous song, but this song is really high energy in comparison. This song is spunky and fun from start to finish. It’s definitely a beat that can be danced to. The vocal delivery is very unique, plus it’s rhythmic and filled with attitude. Rock the Pigeon is definitely hooked on the theys and the thems.
