Lords of Lounge Craft Something Genuinely Beautiful With “Be Right Bach”

German outfit Lords of Lounge open “Be Right Bach” with two lullaby guitars finding each other, their parts weaving together into a soundscape that is at once peaceful and deeply moving, the kind of introduction that makes the outside world feel very far away very quickly. What is remarkable is that this introduction is long, and yet it never feels long. It feels exactly right, unhurried and purposeful, as though the song knows precisely how much time it needs and is not interested in your impatience. When the drums and bass finally arrive they do not interrupt so much as complete something, the song evolving into a fuller, richer version of itself without losing any of the intimacy that made the opening so arresting. “Be Right Bach” is the kind of track that takes you somewhere without telling you where you are going, moving you through emotions and thoughts and quiet revelations at its own pace. You surface from it feeling like time passed differently while you were inside it. A gorgeous piece of music.
