Some shows are more than just a great night out, and this one is exactly that.
If you haven’t heard Kristen Ford’s new single “True Blood” yet, it’s worth dropping everything for. The warm distorted guitars wash over you like a wave, the rhythm section is so locked in it feels like a heartbeat, and her gritty vocals cut right through with the kind of raw honesty that makes a song feel like it was written just for you. It’s the kind of track that opens up a room and makes everyone in it feel something. Hearing it live is going to be something else entirely.
Kristen Ford (she/her/they) plays alt rock with her band The Assembly, and her story is one worth knowing. Her album “Pinto” was produced by John Driskell Hopkins of the Zac Brown Band and the legendary Ani DiFranco on Righteous Babe Records in 2025. After eight years in Nashville, Ford made the move to California in 2024 to embrace her identity and pour herself into her acting and screenwriting. She is an artist in full bloom right now, and this is a beautiful moment to see her perform.
She’s one of four incredible acts at the Trans Day of Visibility Concert at The Hotel Ziggy in WeHo on Sunday, March 29th, 2026. The full lineup is Ryan Cassata & The Top Surgeons (the Europe tour kickoff!), Astrud Aurelia, Kristen Ford, and Lizz Shine & the HRT. It’s a really special bill of queer artists making some of the most vital, heartfelt music happening right now.
Kansas is actively passing some of the most aggressive anti-trans legislation in the country, stripping rights and targeting trans people at every level. 10% of every ticket sold goes directly to the ACLU Kansas to fight back.
