Happy Hyperpop Pride!! Dyan Tai, Jamaica Moana, and BVT have teamed up to deliver “hehehaha”, a high-octane hyperpop anthem that’s perfect for Pride and unapologetically celebrates trans and non-binary joy. Bursting with bright synths, pounding bass, and fierce energy, the track is a bold tribute to gender expression and transgender and queer authenticity.
With lyrics like “I don’t feel like a plain Jane or a plain James” and “a little bit of him, and a little bit of her,” the trio sings and collaborates with swagger and self-assurance, honoring the full spectrum of queer and trans identity. “hehehaha” is a celebration of queerness, a dance-floor-ready declaration of pride, and a sonic space where everyone is free to be fully themselves. Dance along to this song and celebrate your pride! Happy Pride Month!

Self-described Gaysian Empress of Sydney, Dyan Tai (he/they) makes electronic hyperpop music fused with Beijing opera and traditional Southeast Asian soundscapes. Named as one of the outstanding acts to watch at BigSound (NME) and praised by Flume as for their sound design, Dyan makes ‘sophisticated palette pop” (Rolling Stone) with a “personality that shines up the room” (SXSW Sydney showcase artist).
From humble beginnings in Malaysia to finding a niche on Sydney cabaret stages and now evolving into an electronic artist, the trilingual, Chinese-Australian musician reveals new single “hehehaha” set for release on 13th March 2025.
With verses in English and Cantonese, “hehehaha” is a hyperpop, bubblegum bass music song written about pronouns and gender fluidity. The use of PC music and gaming audio samples pays homage to genderqueer, non-binary anime and video game characters.
Featuring BVT and Jamaica Moana, “hehehaha” is the first single off Dyan’s new EP, Supreme 最高 written in collaboration with queer, non-binary and BIPOC artists scheduled for release in mid-2025 supported by SoundNSW.
^Note: Dyan Tai is pronounced “Dee-yan Tie” and uses he/they pronouns
