Germany’s Juten featuring Diane Ventura, have created something quietly wonderful with “Let Go,” a lofi gem that carries the free spirited warmth of Rilo Kiley in every note. The acoustic guitar is slowly strummed, unhurried and easy, and the whole song breathes with that same relaxed energy, like it is actively modeling the very thing it is singing about. The vocal tone is gorgeous, understated and deeply emotional at the same time, delivering lines like “You should know that it’s going to be alright” in a way that actually makes you believe it. The song is about releasing anxiety and accepting the natural drift of two people going their separate ways, captured perfectly in the lyric “You turn left, I turn right, nothing’s wrong, no one’s right.” There is no blame here, no drama, just a gentle acknowledgment that sometimes things simply are what they are, and that acceptance itself can be the most liberating feeling in the world. The lofi production style mirrors that acceptance beautifully, everything about the sound reinforces the message of the lyrics in the most organic way. Juten are doing something special here and “Let Go” is the kind of song you return to whenever you need to breathe.
