Man/Woman/Chainsaw – Nosedive

Nosedive is the latest offering from London six-piece Man/Woman/Chainsaw, a track that thrives on its shifting layers, showcasing a range that spans from delicate harmonies to a cacophony of noise. Built on thumping drums and off-kilter synth, it gradually expands to introduce strings, wiry guitar lines and interweaving vocals that heighten its emotional intensity. A restless energy drives the song forward, building toward the refrain “baby get me back up over you,” which swells with added voices, rising tempo and mounting force. The result is a thrilling, all-consuming climax, an enticing preview of their debut album Cannonball, due 7 August. – Henry Dunn

CQ Wrestling – Finish Line

When the acoustic bubble that swells in the intro of Finish Line finally bursts, what you’re left with is nothing short of shimmering brilliance. Taken from the upcoming album Resistance, released on the 22nd May, the track has arena-sized influences such as Interpol and The National; it fills your ears like a Beach House track, just expect less synth. The epic scale of the bands’ sound allows them to tackle the equally large topics of death and resilience with tact and intelligence. – Kai Marshall

Bleech 9:3 – Underrated

Bleech 9:3 finally deliver the goods with Underrated, a track that feels like a warning. The band discards any pretence of polish, opting instead for a bruised, serrated sound that hits with immediate, claustrophobic force. The interplay between the rhythm section is relentless, providing a solid foundation for a vocal performance that feels genuinely frayed at the edges. It’s the kind of track that demands to be heard in a crowded, sweat-drenched room, not through your phone speakers. If this is the standard they’re setting, the “underrated” tag won’t be sticking for much longer. – Ollie Thomas

Gently Tender – Wild in the Uplands

Gently Tender are taking a trip with “Wild In The Uplands”, a song dedicated to the cyclical need for nature when trapped amongst the confines of a big city. The song is honest-to-goodness fun, meant to be spun loud and with a group of friends to share the moment. The single is yet another alternative folk romp from the UK-based group, and the introduction feels like the setup for a Western-style duel. This song is the perfect escape when you’ve got the feeling of wanderlust and just need to get in your car and drive. – Evan Lurie

Bathing Suits – Swan Princess

Swan Princess is a dizzying, neon-soaked fever dream that proves Bathing Suits are far more than just another punk band. By marrying jagged, post-punk guitars with a persistent, pummeling techno pulse, the group creates a sonic environment that is as danceable as it is confrontational. Freyja Blevins’ vocal delivery is icy and precise, cutting perfectly through the heavy, feedback-drenched instrumentation. It’s a track that feels tailor-made for dark, claustrophobic club basements at 3:00 AM. Refreshingly weird and fiercely ambitious, Swan Princess is the sound of a band fearlessly pushing the boundaries of what a modern guitar track can be. – Lauren Moreton
