The Last Dinner Party Unleash Long-Awaited Fan Favourite ‘Big Dog’

The Last Dinner Party have officially shared “Big Dog,” a dark and forceful art-pop track that has been a staple of their live performances since their earliest days. Released alongside the spoken-word intro “Come All You Beasts,” the single marks the band’s first co-production credit and arrives as they navigate a massive global tour, including upcoming 2027 stadium shows with Olivia Rodrigo.

“Big Dog” sees the quintet leaning into a more experimental, leftfield sound, co-produced by the band alongside Animesh Raval. Drawing comparisons to the raw edge of PJ Harvey, the three-minute track has long been a live favourite, with fans frequently calling for a studio version. It lands during a relentless touring schedule that sees the band moving from a US headline run to major UK summer festival slots, including a first-ever festival headline set at Wilderness.

Paired with the single is the poem “Come All You Beasts,” a piece the band regularly recites on stage to bridge the folklore of their sophomore album, From The Pyre, with the energy of the new track. The release highlights the group’s focus on storytelling and performance art, further establishing their unique lane in the British alternative scene as they prepare for a string of high-profile support slots with Wolf Alice and Sombr later this year.

On the single, bassist Georgia Davies states,

“Come All You Beasts was written as a way to introduce the folkloric and storytelling elements of From the Pyre to Big Dog. The themes of the song were interpolated with Bible verses, subverting prescriptive messages about women’s safety. We have always been inspired by poetry and performance in all forms, so spoken word with improvisational accompaniment felt like a natural extension of our art.”
