Mayday Parade Shines Big with Sugar

Mayday Parade was one of my favorite new school emo bands when I was a teenager. Tracks like “Jamie All Over” and “Miserable at Best” were instant earworms, and to this day, I can still sing every single word.

Well, Mayday Parade are still at it, and with a bigger sound than ever. “Sweet Sad Sugar” proves that the band is just as fierce as they were over a decade ago. They haven’t lost their knack for crafting catchy choruses that pull straight at your angst.

Filled with punchy pop punk drums, distorted melodic guitars, and vocals that tug on your heartstrings, the track embodies everything that made Mayday Parade a staple of the genre. It’s the kind of song that demands you roll the windows down, crank the volume, and sing at the top of your lungs while driving around town.

And all the emo kids like me will love to hear this. Mayday Parade’s new record is out now, so dive in and dive in deep:
