Wakefield indie icons The Cribs have announced a major hometown show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal third album, Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever. Taking place on Friday, 20th August 2027, the outdoor concert marks the first headliner revealed for next summer’s Live at Tileyard North series and represents the band’s first performance in Wakefield in over a decade.

The Jarman brothers, Gary, Ryan, and Ross, will perform the Gold-certified 2007 album in full on the exact site where they wrote and rehearsed during the band’s formative years. Produced by Alex Kapranos and featuring Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo, the record produced indie anthems including “Men’s Needs,” “Moving Pictures,” “I’m a Realist,” and “Our Bovine Public.”

The special anniversary event follows the release of the band’s ninth studio album, 2025’s Selling a Vibe, and will feature support from cult Yorkshire art-rock heroes ¡Forward, Russia!, who are also celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut LP, Give Me A Wall.

Tickets for the event go on general sale on Friday, 23rd October at 10 AM, with an exclusive Wakefield Postcode presale opening on Wednesday, 21st October at 10 AM.
