Alma Leta was born in California and raised in New Zealand. She releases her new single, In the light. It has slow, dreamy instrumentals, giving you the feeling that you’re in outer space, heading for the next planet. The vocals are heartfelt, which makes it easy to focus on each line.
Leta wrote In the Light as a reflection of a time in her early twenties when parties and indulgence captured her. As a latecomer to this scene, she experienced thrills, but also moments of fear and uncertainty. She felt herself drifting apart as another chapter began, and realized that she needed to discover who she was again. Inspired by her own name, Emmanuelle, which signifies “In the light,” this song represents her journey to self-discovery.
