Irish Quartet Release Energetic New Indie Rock Track: ‘City Lights’

The Irish 4-piece band, Pork Pie, deliver a spectacular, rock n roll hit that has enough energy to keep you jumping for all 3 and a half minutes.

‘City Lights’ is the independent quartet’s opening single for their new album, Golden Leaf Sheets, which is set for release early this year. Engineered by Pete Rust and mastered by Fergal Davis, the genre-bending single was recorded in the band’s hometown -Dudalk’s Lockup recording Studio.

The lively single begins with powerful bass guitar riffs that pair very well with frontman, Michael Stafford’s, commanding and gritty vocals. The record manages to maintain this wonderful contagious vigour throughout setting it up to be an incredible song to play live.

Pork Pie is no stranger to the stage, having previously played at notorious venues, including The Dublin Castle in London, The Great Northern Brewery in Ireland as well as even playing a show in Europe at The Paradiso in Amsterdam.

The alternative indie rock song will leave you reminiscent of those classic rock anthems of the 80s. Their high energy and intricate guitar riff combination reminds me of rock heavyweights, Guns N Roses or perhaps even R.E.M.

This single shows extreme promise, so if you liked it then definitely keep an eye on their upcoming album release for more garage indie rock bangers!
