The song is a space for the songwriter to break free from those patterns. “’Thinkin’ Bout My Baby’ is about recognizing my own bad habits and patterns that were learned through toxic relationships and an unhealthy lifestyle and trying to heal, grow, and learn from them,” says Mikayla Joseph. This song has bluesy guitar riffs that give the listener another hook to latch onto aside from the excellent vocal melodies and storytelling lyrics. The song blends in nicely with the band’s inspirations that range from Gary Clark Jr to The Black Pumas to Marcus King Band to Led Zeppelin, and The Black Keys. Mallow Hill’s album will be released later this year.
