Tedious & Brief hail from Chicago and are based in Nashville, TN. Relief functions as the debut single from their first full-length album, which has been in the works for three years. There isn’t a typical pop arrangement in it. Things can become quite experimental, but the focus never strays. I especially adore the gritty guitars and dark synths here.
Here, Tedious & Brief reflect on the struggle to break free from the past and the pressure to live up to certain ideals. The lyrics focus on themes of introspection, self-doubt, and the desire for change, as well as the need for support and solace in moments of confusion and vulnerability.
