Singer-songwriter Grace Gachot releases her new single, Not Okay. Its lyrics are charged with mixed emotions, including the sensation of trying to convince yourself that you don’t miss your ex, only to be reminded by memories and triggers that bring back an intense awareness of longing and hurt. Gachot grapples with the internal conflict of wanting to move on and feeling resentment towards her former partner’s apparent ease in finding happiness with someone else.
Not Okay has some slick soulful instrumentation. I love how the keys and drums are processed. There’s superb guitar work as well, waiting for its chance to shine. The vocals sound powerful, they circulate well.
Gachot always drop hits. This one reminds me of Christina Aguilera’s classics. Yes, it’s that good. Check out Not Okay below!
