Brighton’s Lambrini Girls have today announced their debut album, Who Let The Dogs Out, set for release on January 10th via City Slang Records. The announcement follows years of momentum from their energetic live performances. Accompanying the announcement, the two-piece have shared their latest single, ‘Big D*ck Energy’.
Speaking on the new single, Lambrini Girls explain:
Man comes in many forms, from world leaders to tech CEOs and humble softboys. But what unites them? Society has celebrated their supposed massive figurative and literal dicks, which they constantly flaunt. Why? Toxic masculinity.
They add:
Fuelling their sense of entitlement and insecurities leads to harmful behaviours. Which when left unchecked, means we have to deal with the fallout. The definition of ‘Big Dick Energy’ is a confidence that doesn’t need proving. Which begs the question, how big is that dick in reality? If you haven’t figured this out by now, it’s not that big.
Who Let the Dogs Out is a sonic assault on the modern world, recorded with Daniel Fox of Gilla Band and mixed by Seth Manchester (Mdou Moctar, Battles, Model/Actriz). This debut album from Lambrini Girls is a whirlwind of distorted bass, live drum breakbeats, and infectious pop-punk energy.
The duo tackles social ills with a biting wit and unapologetic ferocity. Who Let the Dogs Out is a chaotic yet exhilarating journey from the cacophony of sirens and heavy distortion to the unexpected bursts of noise-pop. It’s a record that invites you to embrace your quirks, challenge societal norms, and dance through the wreckage of the world.
Known for their electrifying live shows, Lambrini Girls have been hailed as one of the UK’s most exciting new bands since Idles. Their blend of raw punk, sharp social commentary, and dark humour has drawn comparisons to iconic acts like Bikini Kill and Huggy Bear. They’ve shared stages with Gilla Band, Shame, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Iggy Pop, and more, solidifying their reputation as a force to be reckoned with.
