Emerging indie band Split Second has unveiled their latest single, ‘Addicted to Love’. Bringing radiant pop melodies over a striking guitar backdrop, the band capture both a youthful, raw energy and a strikingly complete and polished sound on the single. Atmospheric yet punching and commercially viable, the single is a great example of the bands potential.
Produced by Gavin Monaghan at Magic Garden Studio and written by guitarist Levi Husbands, ‘Addicted to Love’ explores the heady rush of love and the emotional withdrawal that follows a breakup. The song balances bittersweet lyricism with vibrant, sparkling production, showcasing the band’s ability to connect emotionally while delivering a dynamic, high-energy sound.
The lineup change in December 2023 brought new creative energy to the group, with Ava describing the track as pivotal: “This song is more than just a love song for us—it’s where the band truly began to bond, finding the creativity and shared purpose we’d been striving for.”
The track, rich with shimmering guitars and anthemic melodies, captures the addictive nature of love and the emptiness left behind when it fades. It serves as a preview of their forthcoming album, Love Life Cycle, set for release in 2025, which promises to explore the many facets of relationships.
Split Second has rapidly gained traction, building a strong online presence with over 300,000 followers on social media, where they actively engage fans through music releases and creative content. This connection has translated into packed live performances and regular airplay on BBC Introducing and other indie stations. They’ve played at major festivals like HopFest, WooFest, and MelloFest, as well as making a notable appearance on ITV’s This Morning.
