London-based singer-songwriter Larusta & The Dead Dogs, has just unveiled the video for his haunting new single, ‘Within The Valley Green’. A brooding fusion of alternative folk and dark rock, the track offers a first taste of the sound across Larusta’s full length debut album, The Life You Save May Be Your Own (also out now).

The music video, co-directed by Larusta and Alex Christidis, takes the song’s themes of heartbreak and inner turmoil and weaves them into a striking visual narrative. With an aesthetic inspired by silent films, the video captures a timeless quality while telling a devious and evocative story that resonates deeply with the track’s raw emotions. By letting the visuals speak for themselves, the video amplifies the song’s lyrical exploration of loss and resilience, leaving an unforgettable impression.

‘Within The Valley Green/ was born from a place of profound personal reflection. “I processed the end of a relationship in this song, which, due to the way it was handled, felt like an act of psychological and unnecessary cruelty,” Larusta shares.

The track’s chorus is inspired by the first verse of the Irish ballad The Wind That Shakes The Barley, which Larusta reimagined to fit the song’s exploration of inner conflict. The lush arrangement—featuring cello, piano, electric bass, guitar, and drums—creates a rich sonic landscape, blending the traditional with the contemporary to underscore its emotional depth.
