Ahead of their highly anticipated second album, ‘No Rocket Required’ (April 25th, Transgressive Records), The Moonlandingz—Adrian Flanagan, Dean Honer, and Lias Saoudi—release ‘Roustabout,’ a compelling new single featuring Nadine Shah. This gothic duet, reminiscent of a contemporary Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue collaboration, offers a third album preview. The band partnered with director Jeanie Crystal for another captivating music video.

Of the track, Johnny Rocket (AKA Lias Saoudi) states,

It’s a fictional re-imagining of the complexities, stirrings and courage that appeared to dwell within an unnamed celibate moon-faced indie icon from the 80’s!

Nadine Shah continues,

I hope to see this song added to the list of the greatest karaoke duets. Up there with Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers ‘Islands in the Stream.’

The Moonlandingz’s ‘No Rocket Required,’ due in April, features a diverse lineup of guest artists, including Nadine Shah, Iggy Pop, and Ewen Bremner. The album blends brassy sounds, motorik rhythms, and Lias Saoudi’s varied vocals. Saoudi’s performances range from whimsical to reflective, while Iggy Pop’s contribution offers a moment of tender vulnerability. The album, produced by Adrian Flanagan and Dean Honer, balances cosmic and personal themes.
