How did this track manage to cut two different kinds of emotional tugs in one, early doors that was when the acoustics were twinned with a cityscape or at the very least a busy night-time head. I guess the reveal of a singer who busts a gut to get his story across partially explains that minor confusion as does the fact that one half of Young Coal lives in the Scottish highlands. ‘Ideulogy’ almost sounds like it was recorded live, it sure does sound alive and in a manner that could have it standing right beside us and us getting all goosebumped as a result for Young Coal are burning with ambition here. Sounds incredibly exciting to me, hints of Frightened Rabbit here and there but for the most part a talent that venturing forward under their own steam. KH
