The Wombats frontman Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy is back working on his solo project Love Fame Tragedy and has a new single – ‘It’s Ok To Be Shallow’.
Whilst harnessing some iconic elements from the indie chart toppers, Murph is in a typically self-reflective mood, teetering on the edge of a breakdown, yet embracing the volatility of life and love, all wrapped up in characteristically infectious melodies and an earworm of a chorus.
‘It’s Ok To Be Shallow’ is the latest single taken from the forthcoming second album, Life Is A Killer, which includes etheral single ‘Don’t You Want To Sleep With Someone Normal?’ and the funky pop number ‘Slipping Away’.
Speaking on the track, Murph says:”‘It’s Ok To Be Shallow’ is simply about letting go, giving into life and all allowing its complexities to wash over you.”
Life Is A Killer is Murph’s truest and most lyrically raw album to date, documenting one of the most difficult years of his life. Catch Matthew Murphy navigating his way through balancing life as a new father of two and touring the world with The Wombats, he explores the mental struggles of managing family life amid self-destructive excess on the album’s 29th March release date.
