ADANNAY – Misleading Is The Medicine

ADANNAY is a South London-based musician who weaves narratives of queer Black joy and resistance into their music. Misleading Is The Medicine was written after the Covid pandemic, and produced amid the partygate scandal and the government’s Rwanda policy. It acts as a commentary on the current political landscape, with ADANNAY advocating for a shift of power towards the people. Through this, they aim to foster change, as they firmly believe in its necessity.

The song features a strong bassline, which is beautifully balanced with the shimmering echoes of piano keys and eclectic samples. Layered harmonies are sprinkled throughout the track, adding a fascinating layer to the composition. The lead vocals, with their deeply empathetic tone, have the power to metaphorically sweep you off your feet.
