Germany-based alternative artist/producer Philine Sonny shares her new single, In Denial. It can be quite poppy, but it can also be quite post-punk-esque, with slamming guitars setting the pace. The drums are also notable here, they’re very anthemic. It’s nice to hear Sonny sing, since she brightens things up.
In Denial embodies coming-of-age audacity. It isn’t afraid of showing the pain that comes with hopeful, youthful persistence being overshadowed by the realization that some things just aren’t meant to be.
