The chorus begins smoothly, and doesn’t inevitably grow in power, but that’s not needed if you understand how it’s structured. Mackay keeps things brilliantly vocally.
Cold Stare talks about overcoming challenges and coming back stronger from darkness to light. Sometimes it’s best to put yourself in the face of things you know are a bad idea and learn from them. The world is full of cold people and terrible experiences, but you have to take them on the chin and not let them bother you.
