Canadian singer-songwriter Julia Shuren pays homage to the 00s with her latest single, Now I don’t… [care]. It’s got a Timberland-type beat with hints of Beyoncé in it. The layered vocals are prominent with their lavish formulation and soulful timbres, most notably during the chorus.
Now I don’t… [care] is inspired by the pain, strength and empowerment of heartbreak. Whether a relationship ends on good terms or bad terms, one of the most difficult things after moving on is learning how to “uncare” about someone. This process takes time, and doesn’t happen overnight. Even if it never happens, that’s fine too. Just be kind to yourself. Other than that, what else can you do?
