Roi Soleil (Sun King) performs Frenglish pop with a dash of queer glitter. He releases his new banger, Monsieur Baudelaire. Listening to it makes me feel as if the sun is shining even though it’s a grey day here. Take the up-tempo melodic work, for example, which automatically urges you to bounce. The singing is far, far, far beyond ordinary.
Monsieur Baudelaire pays homage to the French poet ‘Baudelaire’ who devoted his entire work to boredom and calls it spleen. As Roi has borings moments as well, he really wanted to write this song. In addition, he uses the opportunity to express his existentialist thoughts.
