Shamandrongur is the latest single by Faroese multidisciplinary artist Silvurdrongur. Its sounds are almost like a gift from Mother Earth. I love the steady beat, which eventually explodes into two crescendos. The performance feels hypnotic, while still being balanced. That’s definitely a plus.
Shamandrongur forms part of a larger body of work titled ‘nú æt eg eftir ánni, which will be released on 17th of July by Tutl Records. It promises to be strangely inspiring. You’ll sometimes feel like an alien.
Silvurdrongur continues to do his own thing. And, let’s be real, who makes music like him? I haven’t seen anyone using the same approaches.
