With her self-proclaimed trauma queen status, Girl Wilde’s music has a magnetic pull. She now shares, 2006, featuring Lostboycrow. It’s produced in an alt-pop style. However, there are also some light folk influences scattered around. I’m most fond of the punchy moments, as they really catch momentum.
Inspired by Wilde’s most puzzling situationship, 2006 explores her search for closure after being ghosted by someone who is unlikely to offer explanations. The lyrics try to connect the dots. We fancy the way they try to engage us.
