Sam Hatmaker is a singer-songwriter raised in Knoxville by a stand-up comedian and an actress. Her new single, AMERICAN PORTRAIT, has strong folk elements but also draws inspiration from country and pop. The result is something exceptional. I particularly enjoy the drumming, because it packs a punch that really gets you grooving. The vocals feel warm, and they deliver the lyrics virtually flawless.
