Faux Real have returned with their vibrant new single, “One & Done.” Accompanied by a self-directed music video looping in a downtown LA fever dream, the track serves as the latest preview of their highly anticipated sophomore album, Poison Time, arriving September 4th via b4. Alongside the release, the duo has announced an extensive autumn headline tour spanning North America, Europe, and the UK.

Charging forward with a restless, danceable energy, “One & Done” transforms the existential dread of modern existence into a euphoric indie-pop anthem. The track captures the dizzying feeling of being thrown headfirst into life without a rehearsal or a second take. The song pulls from high-brow philosophical origins, inspired by Milan Kundera’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being and the German idiom “Einmal ist Keinmal” (once is never), capturing the ontological frustration that no experience can ever be fully replicated.

The band explain,

One & Done was inspired by Kundera’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being and the german idiom ‘Einmal ist Keinmal’: once is never. No experience can ever be fully replicated. A song born from ontological frustration. A video like groundhog day, looping in near-perfect repetition. A downtown LA fever dream. You only get to watch One & Done for the first time once: make it count.

Recorded at their home in Los Angeles, the upcoming album Poison Time marks a visceral, more introspective evolution for brothers Elliott and Virgile Arndt. While previous material leaned heavily into pop pastiche, these new songs sharpen the creative tension between pristine pop hooks and subversive performance art. This artistic tension is visually echoed on the album’s striking artwork, photographed by Grant Spanier and inspired by Marina Abramović’s legendary performance piece Rest Energy, which depicts the brothers suspended over dark water while physically struggling against their own restraints.

Since emerging with their self-titled EP in 2020, Faux Real have carved out a singular niche with their self-described “anti-rock” philosophy. Dubbing themselves “Method Musicians,” the brothers have earned a fierce reputation for chaotic, meticulously choreographed live shows that bring arena-scale pop spectacle into intimate spaces. Their distinct approach has previously landed them spots on BBC Radio 6 Music’s Albums of the Year list and earned them high-profile support slots for Wet Leg and Metronomy, setting the stage for their biggest headline tour yet.
