A coalition of Irish music industry figures, including Fontaines D.C. drummer Tom Coll, Michael Roe (Adebisi Shank / Richter Collective), and Ken Allen (Faction Records), have officially launched Inis Records. Unveiled today, 24 July 2026, the company operates as both an independent record label and an online store exclusively dedicated to celebrating Irish music across every era and genre. Beyond releasing landmark reissues, hidden gems, and new music from emerging acts, Inis Records will also offer distribution and backend support services for small independent labels and self-releasing artists who lack their own distribution channels.

Ireland has such a rich history of amazing artists and labels. Over the last 30 years though, we have relied heavily on infrastructure from outside the country. We hope Inis Records can help build a stronger independent music infrastructure here, giving a generation of new artists and labels the support they need to grow their businesses in Ireland, while reaching audiences internationally.
Born out of a shared passion for Ireland’s rich musical heritage, particularly the country’s vibrant independent label scene from the 1960s to the 2000s, Inis Records aims to address a long-standing gap in the domestic music industry. Human curation sits at the core of the project, with the team focusing on physical vinyl pressings, overlooked catalogue titles, and providing a platform for the next wave of talent. By building a robust, locally based infrastructure, the founders hope to empower Irish artists to cultivate their careers domestically while expanding their reach to international audiences.

Inis Records is about providing an independent label infrastructure in Ireland, giving Irish music a platform to grow and create unique physical music for Irish artists. We want to create truly special vinyl runs, reissue some older gems and support the next wave of Irish music. Ireland needs a stronger independent music infrastructure and our goal with Inis is to achieve that.
The label launches its imprint today with pre-orders for a vinyl reissue of Against Nature, the long out-of-print album by cult 1980s art-rock outfit Fatima Mansions. Looking ahead, Inis Records has mapped out an ambitious release schedule for the remainder of the year. Upcoming projects include a traditional music compilation curated by Tom Coll, a Showband compilation compiled by Charles Hendy of The Mary Wallopers, and several additional reissues of culturally significant Irish albums.
