Glasgow duo Cowboy Hunters have released their highly anticipated single “Punched In The Head” across all streaming platforms. The release follows months of heavy fan demand for a track that had yet to see an official studio release.
To celebrate the drop, the pair, comprising Megan Pollock and Desmond Johnston, are performing a free-entry, ballot-only show at The Elephants Head in Camden, London. Support for the show comes from electronic-punk trio PENGSHUi, following their recent live collaboration at Burn It Down Festival.
Addressing the unrelenting online noise surrounding the track’s release in their typical nonplussed style, Pollock and Johnston shared:
“EVERY 1 CAN STOP WHINGEIN AT US THAT PUNCHED IN THE HED COMIN OUT.”
Blending punk energy, grime influences, and distorted basslines with nonchalant vocal delivery, “Punched In The Head” has already generated massive online momentum ahead of its official release. The track clocked over 3 million Instagram views, while live renditions filmed for Beach House Sessions and Glasgow’s Treacle Sessions accrued hundreds of thousands of views within weeks.
Having racked up millions of streams and co-signs from figures including Frank Carter, Machine Gun Kelly, Florence Pugh, and Kesha, the release marks another breakthrough moment for the Scottish duo ahead of further live announcements.
